Why I Built Kolarclub

Why I created Kolarclub as a place to share what I learn, present my projects, offer development services, and experiment with a new publishing workflow.

Over the years, I have worked on different projects, learned many new things, and decided to create my own place on the internet where I could bring all of that together and share it.

Kolarclub has four main purposes:

  1. To share the things I create, learn, and find important.
  2. To present my projects.
  3. To offer my website and web application development services.
  4. To experiment with a new way of building, managing, and publishing content on websites.

1. To Share

I want to write about topics that are important to me, including programming, web development, training, healthy living, personal observations, thoughts, and all kinds of other things that I find interesting or useful.

For me, Kolarclub is a way to document the things I create, experience, and learn.

For someone else, a single post might provide an idea, help solve a problem, or simply offer a different point of view.

2. To Present My Projects

I want to use Kolarclub as a place to present the projects I have worked on.

Alongside a short description and a list of the technologies used, I can explain what each project does, how it was built, and what I learned while developing it.

3. To Offer My Services

Kolarclub is also a place where I can present the development services I offer.

I build different types of web projects depending on the client’s needs:

  • Small, fast, and beautiful static websites
  • Complex full-stack web applications

For informational and marketing websites, I use technologies such as Astro, Cloudflare, and Pages CMS.

For more complex applications, I work with Next.js, Payload CMS, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Supabase, and Docker, as well as self-hosting, Vercel hosting, and other solutions.

4. To Experiment With a New Way of Building Websites

With Kolarclub, I am experimenting with a different way of building and managing websites.

The site is built with Astro, hosted on Cloudflare, and managed through Pages CMS.

This combination gives me an extremely fast website, free hosting, and an easy-to-use CMS. It also gives me a very pleasant workflow for writing and publishing content.

For example, I am currently writing this article with ChatGPT.

Together, we are shaping the topic, structure, paragraphs, and style of the text. When the article is ready, we will use the GitHub plugin in ChatGPT to push it directly to the website.

This means that I do not need to write separate posts first, open different applications, and move the content between them. I can do almost everything directly inside ChatGPT.

Of course, I still have access to Pages CMS, and I sometimes return to it to review or edit the content. Even so, the approach I am using now feels incredibly convenient.

Kolarclub Is Still at the Beginning

I will try to keep adding new and interesting content, and the topics will probably change together with my experience, interests, and the projects I work on.

I hope all of this will be useful both to me and to other people.
