A Bulgarian Online Store for Flowers and Gifts

Cveten Podaruk is a Bulgarian online store for flowers, bouquets, arrangements, plants, and gifts.

The project combines the convenience of an online shop with the personal service of a local flower business. Customers can browse available products, place an order online, or contact the team directly when they need help choosing something or want to prepare a more personal surprise.

The Project

The goal was to create a complete digital platform through which the business could manage its products, content, orders, payments, and customer communication.

The website includes:

  • A responsive online storefront
  • Product categories and individual product pages
  • A shopping cart and checkout flow
  • Online payment integration
  • Delivery options
  • Product and content management through a CMS
  • Blog and marketing content
  • Direct contact through phone and messaging applications

The platform was designed to be easy to use both for customers and for the people managing the store.

My Role

I created the Cveten Podaruk website and continue to take an active role in its technical and product development.

I work very closely with the owner of the business. My role is not limited to developing and maintaining the platform. I also participate in discussing and developing new ideas, services, and ways in which the website and the business can be more useful to customers.

I designed and developed the storefront, product pages, content structure, shopping cart, checkout process, payment integration, administration system, and production infrastructure.

Working closely with the owner allows me to make technical decisions based on the real needs of the business, its customers, and the day-to-day work of the shop.

Long-Distance Surprises

One of the ideas we developed together is a special service through which people living in other cities or countries can organize a surprise for someone close to them in Sofia and the surrounding area.

The customer can contact the team, explain the occasion and their idea, and Cveten Podaruk helps with selecting, preparing, and delivering flowers, gifts, and other elements of the surprise.

This allows someone to create a personal and emotional gesture even when they are far away and cannot prepare everything themselves.

We believe this is a distinctive service for the Bulgarian market and that it makes Cveten Podaruk more than a standard online flower shop.

Product and Content Management

The administration system is built with Payload CMS.

It allows products, categories, prices, images, delivery information, blog posts, and the rest of the website content to be managed without editing the application code.

This is especially important for an online flower shop, where available products, seasonal collections, prices, and promotional content can change regularly.

Storefront and User Experience

The frontend is built with Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and shadcn/ui.

The interface was developed specifically for Cveten Podaruk instead of using a ready-made e-commerce theme.

The main goal was to create a responsive and easy-to-use shopping experience that works well on both desktop and mobile devices.

Payments and Orders

The platform includes a custom shopping cart and checkout flow.

Stripe is used for online payment processing, while the ordering system collects the information required for the customer, recipient, and delivery.

The website is not intended to replace communication with the florist completely. Customers can contact the team directly when they need a recommendation, a custom arrangement, or help organizing a surprise.

Hosting and Infrastructure

Cveten Podaruk is deployed on self-hosted infrastructure managed with Docker and Coolify.

Cloudflare sits in front of the application and is used for proxying, security, traffic management, and performance.

This setup gives me control over the application, database, deployments, environment variables, and supporting services while keeping the production workflow automated and manageable.
